I was wondering if Nutrisystem will really work for me. I have tried several different weight loss plans and I either do not lose weight or I gain weight on them. I really do not want weight loss surgery or go on prescribed diet medicine so that is why I am wondering if Nutrisystem will really work. Nutrisystem looks much safer than prescribed diet medicine or weight loss surgery. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Would you also please list the foods on Nutrisysem that you really enjoy so I would know what to look forward to. Thank you for your time...

Your question was: Will Nutrisystem work for me?.

I have to tell ya, Nutrisystem is a terrific program. I have tried many different plans, pills and programs but this one is easy, tasty and fun! I have met wonderful people whom I now consider great friends and have gone below my original weight loss goal!.

You can go it, give it a try!..

If you follow the plan, it WILL work - it is the only thing that has truly worked for me! You must come into it with the determination not to cheat, and recognize that you will not like every entree, any more than you like every entree in a restaurant. But all entrees can be made to taste good, or at least palatable, to everyone who is not overly picky. Most of us have numerous favorites in every category that we order - the first month gives you the opportunity to learn what those are...

As long as you are dedicated to an lifestyle change to healthier eating, then yes Nutrisystem will work for you. It's quite easy to follow and the food tastes great IMO. It can work wonders, but you have to dedicate yourself...

The reason you don't lose weight on the other programs is because you cheat. Nutrisystem has a lot of things to help prevent cheating (low GI, support boards, structured program, pre-made entrees, etc.). But you still have to not cheat in the end for this program to work. I would give it a shot...but be VERY SERIOUS. No cheating AT ALL! I don't care if it is your birthday or Xmas. Man up. This is your last chance before the belly band...

Eveyone's already said it, but YES this plan works as long as you stick to it. There's a lot of variety in the entrees, you add in a lot of yummy fruits, vegies, dairy/protein items. It's convenient and quick and easy if that's what you're into, or you can get creative and actually "cook" and add things to the meals as you go. I agree with Bartle, that the majority of the food is very tasty, and I agree with Sally and Poly too... you have to want this to work in order for it to do so. Everyone slips up every now and again (ok, maybe not you, Poly), but as long as you dedicate yourself to getting right back on track, this plan will do wonders! I have no intention of ever going back to my old eating habits, and Nutrisystem has taught me so many great things about cooking and eating right! You can do this!!.

As far as what foods I like, they wouldn't necessarily be the ones you'd like, but I'll list a few faves anyway: the burger, the pizza, the chicken breast, the lunch bars, the pancakes, the muffins, any of the chocolate!, the cheesy potatoes, and the scones...

They call it "Mindset Makeover" for a reason. We have to change how we feel about food; we have to change our daily activities; and, we have to understand our motivations for eating when we do.....and make the changes. No one can do it for you; you have to do it with the right mindset, and the tools and food Nutrisystem provides with your additions...

You'll have to de-tox from the greasy, fatty, and sugary foods you've been first taste, you will think the food is 'lacking'.....but after you have been on Nutrisystem for 3 weeks or so, and you are 100% dedicated to a mindset makeover, you'll notice your taste buds start to change....You'll see weight loss that will give you motivation. Before you know it, we won't want to cheat!.

You'll have to follow the program, eat all the Nutrisystem food and the add-ins, drink lots of water (at least 64 oz!) start exercising (I am a walker), and not cheat!.

Check out the "post your before and after photo" thread. You'll see a lot of people who changed their lives by following the program. If they can do it, you can do it too!!!.

Best of luck to you,.

Like everyone else has said, it will work if you follow the plan, do not cheat and do the mindset makeover. I think the last part is the most important. You have to change the way you think about food, the taste, the reasons you eat and how much you eat. This is not a magic fix and you will regain the weight if you go back to your old habits when you leave NS.

I have only been doing this for about a month and expect that it will take closer to 18 months to get to where I want to be, not only weight wise but in my head as well. In the 1st 4 weeks, I have lost about 10lbs and went out to dinner last night for my 1st "cheat" since starting. I followed the dining out guide and did fairly well with only 1 slight slipup. Overall I totally enjoyed my meal and actually tasted it. I realized in the past I would have had gone to the same restaurant and eaten an appetizer and chosen a larger dinner serving and still have left not satisified. Yesterday I ate slower and was satisfied and not hungry when I was done..I was also not in the "I ate to much, feeling bloated" stage either.

So not only do you follow the menu but you read the daily dose, do the mindset make over and fully embrace your new way of thinking about least that is what I am going to do...I will never go back to the way I was..I refuse!..

If you are willing to follow the plan, drink the 64 oz. water daily, & walk/work out 30-60 min. daily, this plan will work. Period. It works for those who are unable/unwilling to walk/work out, but it's somewhat slower. If you're not able/willing to invest enough effort to do the aforementioned, then, naturally, your weight won't drop.

After a year off-plan, I'm on it again. It works...

NS works IF you follow the plan. I have tried many other "diets" etc prior. The thing I realize is that I wasn't ready before. When I joined Nutrisystem Feb 2005 I was ready, and WANTED it. That is why I was able to stick to the plan and lose much more than I ever expected. I looked at it as a life style change, not a "diet".

So...ask yourself "Are you ready? Do I want this?".

Good luck!..

It works. And it teaches you how to eat a healthy diet.

Do it...
