I know I mediflopped many cookies, I finally gave up on the baking thing. The first (and last) shake cookies I made were disgusting, I would have rather just ate the batter too. The first muffins I made were like hockey pucks and they sat on my stomach like a lead weight. So many people here seem to find a way to make it work, maybe just try another recipe...
I vote for the batter - same with the sugar cookie recipe..
Ladies, I have mediflopped enough times to fill a hole the size of my backyard, lol. I tried the shake cookies 3 times before I got them how I liked them. My daughter used to make the oatmeal cookies for me because I just couldn't get them right! I took my time and learned to make the crackers from soup, as well as cookies! I am ready to tackle the muffins next, lol!!.
I hated to "waste" the food, it's expensive!! So, I always ate my flops, but after a couple times, it worked out..
Good luck to you!!..
Hey Jacaroo. Sorry to hear about your MediFlop. Which cookie recipe of mine did you use? You can PM if you like. If you used my version of the Medifast Sugar Cookies, I used vanilla pudding (not a shake) with the Medifast oatmeal. Not to worry though. Together we'll get it figured out...
Thanks folks - I need all the encouragement I can get!.
I think maybe I will try again. The idea appeals to me, and I'm normally a very good baker. But for some reason, I'm intimidated by using these products instead of plain old (evil) flour and sugar..
Defragged, I think I got my recipe authors confused. I was reading your blog yesterday and found all those wonderful recipes and cut/paste almost all of them into Word so I could make little notecards for the kitchen. But I realize that the shake cookie recipe actually came from Spoiled on a thread here. She said she got it from this site (somewhere). Have you tried this one? Doctored it up? Maybe it's because I didn't use a teflon coated pan and had to spray mine?.
1 pkt shake mix (I used vanilla).
1/8 tsp baking powder.
Dash of salt (I use salt substitute).
2 packets of Splenda.
1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
1/2 tsp cinnamon.
1/4 to 1/2 cup of water to make desired consistency for drop cookies.
Mix and drop by teaspoons onto teflon coated cookie sheet (just bought new and had to try it out, did not need any spray).
I baked for 7 minutes at 350 degress for chewy texture...
Hmmm ... sounds like a fun challenge to me. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I saw a shake cookies recipe in the recipes that Medifast offers in their downloads. I've never tried it, but I'll see if I can find it and compare it to the one you tried. Rubbery Medifast food almost sounds to me like it didn't have enough baking powder in comparison to the amount of content in the Medifast packet. Unfortunately, not all Medifast packets contain the same amount of content which can sometimes throw off a recipe...
