Does anyone have a suggestion for those of us who really miss having fresh fruit? I know it comes back sometime during transition, but it's been a long time and I'm a real fruit lover!..

Closest thing I can think of is to freeze one of the fruit shakes and eat it like a water ice. Or make a sorbet (if you have an ice cream maker)..

It isn't fruit, but it'll have a fruity flavor to it. That might get you by...

BTW, how do I find your Survival Guide? I've read many comments about it, but cannot find it anywhere. I'm specifically interested in what takes us OUT of ketosis. Thanks!..

To answer that specific question - carbs take you out of ketosis. If there's a certain level of them available for fuel (number varies from person to person, but that's why the 100g limit is imposed by the program - it generally covers everyone), your body see no need to keep burning fat and it stops issuing the enzymes that break down the fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies..

Something like that....

Oh, that's also why something like Atkins, which doesn't really limit calories, still puts you into ketosis - it's limiting your carbs...

Ok...Thi is a wierd suggestion, but one day I was craving oranges and I bought the Orbitz citrus gum....I don't usually chew gum because of the carbs,...I know I am getting obsessive...but it hit the spot and stopped the fruit craving...there are always crystal lights......

Don't really miss the fresh fruit, but I did really miss my OJ or juice in the morning.

Crystal Lite Ruby Red Grapefruit and Orange are reasonable substitutes, particularly the Ruby Red..

Start date 1/5/07.

Start weight 252.6.

Current weight 230.5.

Goal weight 180 but could lose more but would like to see that before going to my next goal..

1st mini goal 15 lbs - Met goal +1 on 2/2/07.

2nd mini goal 20 lbs Met 2/16/07.

3rd mini goal 35 lbs by St. Pats Day (might be a little unrealistic, but something to shoot for)..

I am not sure who makes it, but a friend gave me a piece of mojito flavored sugarless gum the other day. mmmmm Lime and Mint. It really hit the spot for the margarita (and citrus) lover in me!..

Well, it is certainly not fresh fruit, but..........I use the SF Jello, it comes in so many flavors. It does tend to help the fruit craving..
