Your question was: How to eat Jicama during Nutrisystem?.
I just tried jicama last month. I would cut a piece off and peel it,slice it into strips, and add to salad. I liked it,but not sure what else to do with it...
Bought my first Jicama today....any tips on how to peel it? I tried an old fashioned "carrot peeler" and that didn't work. Ended up just using a knife (risky with my luck). I cut it into small strips and put it in my salad. Great!..
How do you store the jicama once you've cut it up?..
Put it in a container with a cover and store in the refrigerator...
All I do is peel the jicama with a vegetable peeler (not the easiest thing in the world to do) and then just cut it up. I gave up trying to cut into strips or anything fancy/uniform. I eat it raw and plain. It's better when it's cold. It's so refreshing on a hot day. In fact, I'm going to have some with my hamburger tonight for dinner. Can't wait!..
I cut it into wide planks and eat it with salsa - MMMM!..
Alicia- What a GREAT idea to eat it with salsa. Always looking for something crunchy to eat salsa with..
I like to take strips of jicama and dip it in WF French Onion Dip. I love the cool crispness of it and sometimes just put it in salad. It's so delicious!..
Thanks for the tips on the Jicama. I think the next time I go to the store I will buy some. I like the idea about the French Onion Dip, but is that non-fat?..
Walden Farms is fat free, sugar free, calorie free. There is a thread for Walden Farm products that we all like. Check it out.. I'll find the thread and bump it up for you...
Thanks, I will look for it. Never heard of the brand before. I wonder if it's a west coast brand. I bought my jicama last night. Its really tough and heavy. How in the world do I peel it? Like a potatoe?..
