Try mixing it up a bit with flavor drops or using some of the recipes from the recipe board so that you aren't bored anymore. Or, if you can do it without triggering a binge, have some sauce or toppings in condiment portions as suggested for dressings and such on the success tools eating right link..
Good luck to you...
I have been on this plan for a little longer than you and I can understand where you are at. I have had a few just plain HUNGRY days, thank God that the are few and far between!!! I have also thought of eating stuff off plan but what I try to do is eat a L&G that I really really LOVE so I don't feel like I am missing something.
As far as getting tired of the Medifast food, all I do are the shakes so I have no real advise for you aside from check out all the creative cooks on recipe board. Some of that stuff sounds awesome!!.
Don't stress about going off plan and how hard it will be to get back on. Focus on working with the rules that this plan offers. Make it work for YOU!! You can do this!!.
Keep your chin up and move forward! You are doing GREAT (32 pounds down WOOHOO!!!). Just push yourself over this hump and you will WOW yourself all over again!.
Sending you my best Medifast skinny vibes!.
Cheryl - great job so far! I bet you look great! I always had a "hungry" day or two right before a "big" loss - I think it was my body's way of trying to get me to hold on to the fat. Don't let the fat win! Be strong! Also, if it's TOM, that can cause hungry days.
About the anxious part, I don't have much to offer, unless it just excess energy! Or have you been drinking more caffeine than usual? Maybe someone else has some ideas on that. Or you could search the Nutrisystem board for a similar question..
I would occasionally tire of the food, too. Definitely try some of the recipes and see if that helps. I've been on maintenance for 10 months now and still use 2 - 3 meals/day, I now find them comforting rather than boring - hard to believe the white packet of oatmeal can be a comfort food, huh?! I guess that's what 14 months of using the products will do.
Keep up the good work! Becki..
I find that I have severe "HUNGRY DAYS" right before I drop weight !!! THe longer I am on the program (4 months now) the more I find this to be true!!!.
Good luck... dont fall off... keep on trucking you WILL Get through it !..
There ARE those waves of rougher times... RIDE THEM OUT as best you can and they go away again! (They WILL continue every once and awhile but it really is worth it to take a few minutes at a time and have faith it WILL get better!).
TRY ANYTHING you can think of (nonfood) to distract yourself! Baths, chores, reading, the boards, walks, ANYTHING! You'll be glad you did!.
HANG IN THERE and BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF!..
Thank you for all the suggestions and support. I'm sure a lot of it is TOM. I think part of the anxiousness is the life changes that come with losing weight. I had lunch with a friend today, first time to eat out since starting the program. I had a salad at Quiznos, couldn't measure the chicken and cheese on the salad. I only ate a little of the dressing on my fork with a few bites.
The soups are really the only Medifast food that I am getting tired of. They are the easiest for me to take to work for lunch. I need to try seasoning them with something. Any suggestions? Thanks, Cheryl..
Ditto on the very hungry around TOM and right before a big loss. Distraction is the key even as someone else mentioned.
Soups...let's see. Curry and onion powder in any of the chicken soups..
Diced rotell toms in the chili with dehydrated onion and a little bit of FF shredded cheese..
Veggie soup, diced celery, onion, and some beef bullion, even some old bay seasoning usually tastes pretty good..
I spice up ALL my foods, and I have found I enjoy them as much if not better than the regular Campbell's soups I might have eaten once upon a time. But then I always cook mine slow on the stove. SO good!..
