My first question is: How many emails before you ask to meet on match.com?.

My next question is: If anyone can offer any advice I would be really grateful...for the first time in a long time, I have met a guy who has the potential to really get under my skin. we are both in our 30's and have only been on a few dates, so it's very early days, but I cant remember the last time a guy gave me butterflies, made me laugh so much, noticed small details about me and time together has been effortless, fun and exciting. we share the same sense of humour and conversation has flowed from the start. he has told his friends about me and given me so many wonderful compliments with genuine openess and calls, emails and texts every day. we are taking it very slowly and have as yet only kissed... it just feels right!!so I have 2 questions...

We are so new to each other.. is there a chance he may remain interested during our time apart.. or is it too soon and too long that he is away?? I dont want to sleep with him until he gets back as by doing so will take things to a different level and make it harder if he moves on by the end of his trip.secondly... now and again he throws in comments that I dont know how to take. insults really...

A test of our humour and how we will react?? I dont react when he does.. but for example, he said today that he now feels that his first impression of me was wrong.. and he still finds me attractive but he was wrong about the class and charisma he initially commented on. this was said after a silly conversation.. but if he meant it, would he say it?i know it sounds pathetic, but i've been so badly hurt in the past that I am scared of my feelings for this guy..

And although I wont show him this and wont let them cloud what we have.. I need to understand if men use an almost playground method of insulting someone they actually like... thank you for reading all this...!!!!!!!!..

I think the best way to go is just ask him.  ask him what does he think about the relationship (thru Match.com) and how does he want to keep contact etc..while he is away for 2 months, it's better to make clear if you guys decide to be exclusive before he goes just so both people would be on the same page.  as far as the insults you should just ask him right then and there instead of trying to figure out what he meant...its easy for people to misunderstand each other especially when they don't know one another that well yet.  good luck! ..

Yes, there is a chance..

"he said today that he now feels that his first impression of me was wrong.. and he still finds me attractive but he was wrong about the class and charisma he initially commented on.".

You are going to have to elaborate - what did he initially comment on?  If you are unsure as to what he meant by a statement then you will have to ask him. Playful banter is a way of flirting but it does get under the skin - but in a bad way sometimes - it depends on banter and who is doing it...

Hi Mabel2008,.

Welcome to the baord! I'm sorry I'm so late in replying.

You totally should talk to him.  A good relationship (thru Match.com) is about communication.  Good Luck,.

Yes, communication is key.  .  Sometimes we hear what we want to hear and not what is said so make sure you  get clarification about what he means.  .
