Hey.I have been wondering lately if the isotretinoin treatment gives results for everyone taking it. Tomorrow I will have completed 3 months of Sotret (40mg/day) and I can't see improvements. There has been a while when I think I had a cleaner face (a couple of weeks ago), but it didn't last long, maybe a week or two. Then I had a breakout, it's almost gone but again, another 2 pimples have recently came out. That wouldn't be a problem, but I have cystic acne and those cysts on my face are really big. And big = to cover one of it, sometimes I can use even 3 fingers.

I am curious because two friends of mine have taken these pills which did wonders in a shorter period of time...

Mate, don't worry. I completed a 5-month course without seeing any results while on isotretinoin. When I ended my therapy, it started to clean. Keep your faith..

And you know what? I got 2 big cysts while on month 4. It was like... huh.... I couldn't live... but I kept my faith, I just hoped... Now I'm on my 2nd week post isotretinoin.

I can understand you, but you know what? It will work for sure..

The dosage is mentioned: 40mg/day. Didn't know that height matters, but I'm ~1.78, weight: ~64 kg. My dermatologist said the maximum amount is 1mg/1kg, but I didn't get that high, to 60mg.Thank you for your posts. I think I am going to get a picutre of my face these days...

It almost always does something. But the timing is hard to predict. Some people have a sudden miracle clear-up, some people gradually get clear, some people break out on their entire course and don't clear until afterwards...it affects everybody differently. But only very, very rarely does it give no results whatsoever. So you'll almost definitely get some kind of improvement. Remission, on the other hand, is less certain: sometimes acne stays away and sometimes it comes back, and there are various statistics floating around about this.

Give it time. You'll get there The numbers are on your side...

Ok, I hope that numbers are right. Thanks. I will surely give it some more time. I don't have anything to lose beside my liver (kiddin'), but I was curious about this.Other posts and votes are welcome...
