You know, sometimes a statement can be rather ambiguous. If a guy says in a letter, 'I'll be thinking of you' does it mean that he's being very loving and intimate, and perhaps carrying a certain romantic subtext? Yet quite often we also hear people saying the statement when trying to offer blessing to someone in hard times.I got this guy - currently living in another city - saying this to me. I am not under bereavement or something, but mentioned I was not very happy lately. This is not someone I have known for a long time. Just very casual friend. But he wrote a very beautiful email, and signed off using this statement...

Your question was: Blessing or more.

I wouldn't consider it a blatant expression of romance or romantic love, but men don't use that phrase with a woman unless there is an undercurrent of potential attraction...

Guys usually don't speak with hidden messages (as girls sometimes do). He sounds like a sweet guy that wants to help you through a tough time by letting you know he'll be thinking about you. Tell him it means a lot to hear him say that and he'll appreciate the open line of communication. Remember, guys are usually straight shooters and will say what's on their minds.Good Luck!!..

Thanks for all your responses, girls. Actually I am inclined not to read too much into it, when I read the email the second time. Maybe it's someone I miss a lot and secretly fancy the first time I read this I almost jumped! ;-)Maybe I sounded a little insecure in my previous email to him and so he took the effort to email over a long-distance (he`s on vacation in a another city, and we live in the same city actually)..

It's a caring statement obviously which is lovely but yes the meaning behind it, subtext, is hard to tell without knowing more about the "relationship."  But it's certainly not a bad thing!.
