I've tried LOTS of diets and tricks and gimmicks and everything under the sun. I think I tried so many with such sporadic, limited success, that I resigned myself to the fact that nothing really worked.

I know I'm only in Week2 of the Medifast program, but it really does work. It's hard...don't get me wrong. I am hungry, and was very tired that first week, and I miss eating those foods I love and drinking my cocktails. But...I also feel a sense of empowerment coming. I am slowly starting to lose that skepticism that I felt nothing would work, so why try anymore?.

Because, it IS working. One day one MEAL at a time. I find that it is okay for me to be a little hungry. I can drink enough water to help me last for another 2-3 hours until meal-time. I can keep myself from walking around the kitchen looking to munch. I can order sensibly in a restaurant..

Control is a powerful thing, and I think that I'm fighting back against my old mind-set and taking back control...

I love this post! You are right,there is definitely something empowering about having tota control. I used to miss my night cocktails, ...one of the reasons I gained so much, but now I feel better than ever! it's a great feeling, something you always want to hold on to, I feel healthier and happier!..

What an inspiring post! You give me a boost today! Thank you! and I've been doing this for a while now! I don't count the weeks like some do - I just count the pounds. 25 and counting!.

I suggest you copy and print your post. It is excellent and uplifting! There will be days to come that staying on program and focused will be difficult - and you'll be glad you have those words to look to for the motivation to push through the tough days. Medifast works - no doubt about that - but it doesn't do the work for you. Work the program and the program will work for you!.

I feel like from day one, it gave me my self respect back. No more bingeing, which is so degrading. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, and I STUCK with it!.

A weight has been lifted from my soul, almost from the beginning. Let freedome ring..

Great post! I never really thought about the empowerment aspect....another great thing to think about...other than food!!!!!!!.

I am going to need some empowerment this week....I heard "jambalaya" as part of the meals while away at a camp this weekend with hubby and friends. Already planning on what to bring to stay OP...
